Salmos 54

1Ao mestre do coro. Para instrumentos de corda. Maskil. De Davide, depois que os Zifeus foram ter com Saul e lhe disseram:

2"Eis que Davide está escondido entre nós."

3Salva-me, ó Deus, por teu nome, e com o teu poder defende a minha causa,

4Ouve, ó Deus, a minha oração; atende às palavras da minha boca.

5Com efeito, os soberbos levantaram-se contra mim, homens violentos buscaram a minha vida; não puseram a Deus diante dos seus olhos.

6Mas eis que Deus vem em meu auxílio, o Senhor sustenta a minha vida.

7Faz recair os males sobre os meus inimigos, e extermina-os por tua fidelidade.

8Eu te oferecerei um sacrifício voluntário, celebrarei o teu nome. Senhor, porque é bom.

9Porquanto tem-me livrado de toda a tribulação, e os meus olhos viram confundidos os meus inimigos.

2cum venissent Ziphæi, et dixissent ad Saul: Nonne David absconditus est apud nos?

3[Deus, in nomine tuo salvum me fac, et in virtute tua judica me.

4Deus, exaudi orationem meam; auribus percipe verba oris mei.

5Quoniam alieni insurrexerunt adversum me, et fortes quæsierunt animam meam, et non proposuerunt Deum ante conspectum suum.

6Ecce enim Deus adjuvat me, et Dominus susceptor est animæ meæ.

7Averte mala inimicis meis; et in veritate tua disperde illos.

8Voluntarie sacrificabo tibi, et confitebor nomini tuo, Domine, quoniam bonum est.

9Quoniam ex omni tribulatione eripuisti me, et super inimicos meos despexit oculus meus.]

2When the men of Ziph had come and said to Saul: Is not David hidden with us?

3Save me, O God, by thy name, and judge me in thy strength.

4O God, hear my prayer: give ear to the words of my mouth.

5For strangers have risen up against me; and the mighty have sought after my soul: and they have not set God before their eyes.

6For behold God is my helper: and the Lord is the protector of my soul.

7Turn back the evils upon my enemies; and cut them off in thy truth.

8I will freely sacrifice to thee, and will give praise, O God, to thy name: because it is good:

9For thou hast delivered me out of all trouble: and my eye hath looked down upon my enemies.
