Salmi 82

1Salmo di Asaph. Iddio sta nell'adunanza degli dei: e in mezzo a loro degli stessi dei fa giudizio.

2E fino a quando farete voi giudizj ingiusti, e avrete rispetti umani in grazia de' peccatori?

3Rendete giustizia al povero, e al pupillo: fate ragione al piccolo, e al povero.

4Difendete il povero: e strappate il mendico dalle mani del peccatore.

5Sono dell'ignoranza, e privi del bene dell'intelletto, camminano nelle tenebre: sono scosso le fondamenta della terra.

6Io ho detto: Voi siete dii, e figliuoli tutti dell'Altissimo.

7Ma voi, come uomini morete, cadrete come l'uno dei principi.

8Levati su, o Dio, giudica tu la terra: imperocché tu avrai per tua eredità tutte le genti.

1Psalmus Asaph. [Deus stetit in synagoga deorum; in medio autem deos dijudicat.

2Usquequo judicatis iniquitatem, et facies peccatorum sumitis?

3Judicate egeno et pupillo; humilem et pauperem justificate.

4Eripite pauperem, et egenum de manu peccatoris liberate.

5Nescierunt, neque intellexerunt; in tenebris ambulant: movebuntur omnia fundamenta terræ.

6Ego dixi: Dii estis, et filii Excelsi omnes.

7Vos autem sicut homines moriemini, et sicut unus de principibus cadetis.

8Surge, Deus, judica terram, quoniam tu hæreditabis in omnibus gentibus.]

1A psalm for Asaph. God hath stood in the congregation of gods: and being in the midst of them he judgeth gods.

2How long will you judge unjustly: and accept the persons of the wicked?

3Judge for the needy and fatherless: do justice to the humble and the poor.

4Rescue the poor; and deliver the needy out of the hand of the sinner.

5They have not known nor understood: they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth shall be moved.

6I have said: You are gods and all of you the sons of the most High.

7But you like men shall die: and shall fall like one of the princes.

8Arise, O God, judge thou the earth: for thou shalt inherit among all the nations.
