1I figliuoli d'Aaronne furon divisi in queste classi: Figliuoli d'Aaronne: Nadab, e Abiu, ed Eleazar, e Ithamar.

2E morirono Nadab, e Abiu prima del padre loro senza figliuoli: e fecero le funzioni del sacerdozio Eleazar, e Ithamar.

3E Davidde li divise, viene a dire, la famiglia di Sadoc figliuolo di Eleazaro, e quella di Ahimelech della casa d'Ithamar, fissando i turni del loro ministero.

4E si trovarono in molto maggior numero i capi di famiglie discendenti da Eleazaro, che quelli d'Ithamar. Ed egli distribuì i discendenti di Eleazaro in sedici famiglie con un capo per ogni famiglia: e quelli di Ithamar in otto famiglie;

5E le funzioni dell'una, e dell'altra famiglia le tirò a sorte: perchè tanto i discendenti di Eleazaro, come quelli di Ithamar erano principi del Santuario, e principi di Dio.

6E Semeia figliuolo di Nathanael della tribù di Levi, e segretario ne fece la descrizione alla presenza del re, e de' magnati, e di Sadoc Sacerdote, e di Ahimelech figliuolo di Abiathar, e dei capi delle famiglie sacerdotali, e Levitiche, prendendo alternativamente la casa di Eleazaro, che era sopra le altre: e la casa d'Ithamar, che altre ne avea sotto di se.

7E il primo turno toccò a Joiarib, il secondo a Jedeo,

8Il terzo ad Harim, il quarto a Seorim,

9Il quinto a Melchia, il sesto a Maiman,

10Il settimo ad Accos, l'ottavo ad Abia.

11Il nono a Jesua, il decimo a Sechenia,

12L'undecimo ad Eliasib, il duodecimo a Jacim,

13Il tredicesimo ad Hoppha, il quattordicesimo ad Isbaab,

14Il quindicesimo a Belga, il sedicesimo ad Emmer,

15Il diciassettesimo a Hezir, il diciottesimo ad Aphses,

16Il diciannovesimo a Pheteia, il ventesimo ad Hezechiel,

17Il ventesimo primo a Jachin, il ventesimo secondo a Gamul,

18Il ventesimo terzo a Dalaiau, il ventesimo quarto a Maaziau.

19Ecco le loro distribuzioni secondo i lor ministeri, affinchè entrino nella casa del Signore secondo il loro turno secondo gli ordini d'Aaronne loro padre: come avea prescritto il Signore Dio d'Israele.

20Or gli altri figliuoli di Levi erano Subael de' figliuoli di Amram, e Jehedeia de' figliuoli di Subael.

21E de' figliuoli di Rohobia era capo Jesia.

22Salemoth figliuolo d'Isaari, e Jahath figliuolo di Salemoth.

23E il figliuolo primogenito di Jahath Jeriau, il secondo Amaria, il terzo Jahaziel, il quarto Jecmaan.

24Figliuolo di Oziel, Micha: figliuolo di Micha, Samir.

25Fratello di Micha, Jesia: e Zacharia era figliuolo di Jesia.

26Figliuoli di Merari: Moholi, e Musi: figliuolo di Oziau, Benno,

27Figliuolo ancora di Merari Oziau; e Soam e Zachur, ed Hebri,

28Moholi ebbe un figliuolo, cioè Eleazaro, il quale non ebbe figliuoli.

29Figliuolo di Cis, Jerameel.

30Figliuoli di Musi: Moholi, Eder, e Jerimoth. Questi sono i figliuoli di Levi secondo la diramazione delle loro famiglie.

31Ed eglino pure tirarono a sorte a imitazione de' loro fratelli figliuoli d'Aaronne dinanzi al re David, e a Sadoc e ad Ahimelech, e dinanzi ai capi delle famiglie sacerdotali, e Levitiche: i maggiori, e i minori, tutti egualmente tiravano a sorte.

1Porro filiis Aaron hæ partitiones erant. Filii Aaron: Nadab, et Abiu, et Eleazar, et Ithamar.

2Mortui sunt autem Nadab et Abiu ante patrem suum absque liberis: sacerdotioque functus est Eleazar, et Ithamar.

3Et divisit eos David, id est, Sadoc de filiis Eleazari, et Ahimelech de filiis Ithamar, secundum vices suas et ministerium.

4Inventique sunt multo plures filii Eleazar in principibus viris, quam filii Ithamar. Divisit autem eis, hoc est, filiis Eleazar, principes per familias sedecim: et filiis Ithamar per familias et domos suas octo.

5Porro divisit utrasque inter se familias sortibus: erant enim principes sanctuarii, et principes Dei, tam de filiis Eleazar quam de filiis Ithamar.

6Descripsitque eos Semeias filius Nathanaël scriba Levites, coram rege et principibus, et Sadoc sacerdote, et Ahimelech filio Abiathar, principibus quoque familiarum sacerdotalium, et Leviticarum: unam domum, quæ ceteris præerat, Eleazar: et alteram domum, quæ sub se habebat ceteros, Ithamar.

7Exivit autem sors prima Jojarib, secunda Jedei,

8tertia Harim, quarta Seorim,

9quinta Melchia, sexta Maiman,

10septima Accos, octava Abia,

11nona Jesua, decima Sechenia,

12undecima Eliasib, duodecima Jacim,

13tertiadecima Hoppha, decimaquarta Isbaab,

14decimaquinta Belga, decimasexta Emmer,

15decimaseptima Hezir, decimaoctava Aphses,

16decimanona Pheteia, vigesima Hezechiel,

17vigesima prima Jachin, vigesima secunda Gamul,

19Hæ vices eorum secundum ministeria sua, ut ingrediantur domum Domini, et juxta ritum suum sub manu Aaron patris eorum, sicut præceperat Dominus Deus Israël.

20Porro filiorum Levi qui reliqui fuerant, de filiis Amram erat Subaël, et de filiis Subaël, Jehedeia.

21De filiis quoque Rohobiæ, princeps Jesias.

22Isaari vero filius Salemoth, filiusque Salemoth Jahath:

23filiusque ejus Jeriau primus, Amarias secundus, Jahaziel tertius, Jecmaan quartus.

24Filius Oziel, Micha: filius Micha, Samir.

25Frater Micha, Jesia: filiusque Jesiæ, Zacharias.

26Filii Merari: Moholi, et Musi. Filius Oziau: Benno.

27Filius quoque Merari: Oziau, et Soam, et Zachur, et Hebri.

28Porro Moholi filius, Eleazar, qui non habebat liberos.

29Filius vero Cis, Jerameel.

30Filii Musi: Moholi, Eder et Jerimoth: isti filii Levi secundum domos familiarum suarum.

31Miseruntque et ipsi sortes contra fratres suos filios Aaron coram David rege, et Sadoc, et Ahimelech, et principibus familiarum sacerdotalium et Leviticarum, tam majores quam minores: omnes sors æqualiter dividebat.

1Now these were the divisions of the sons of Aaron: The sons of Aaron: Nadab, and Abiu, and Eleazar, and Ithamar.

2But Nadab and Abiu died before their father, and had no children: so Eleazar, and Ithamar did the office of the priesthood.

3And David distributed them, that is, Sadoc of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their courses and ministry.

4And there were found many more of the sons of Eleazar among the principal men, than of the sons of Ithamar. And he divided them so, that there were of the sons of Eleazar, sixteen chief men by their families: and of the sons of Ithamar eight by their families and houses.

5And he divided both the families one with the other by lot: for there were princes of the sanctuary, and princes of God, both of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar.

6And Semeias the son of Nathanael the scribe a Levite, wrote them down before the king and the princes, and Sadoc the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the princes also of the priestly and Levitical families: one house, which was over the rest, of Eleazar: and another house, which had the rest under it, of Ithamar.

7Now the first lot came forth to Joiarib, the second to Jedei,

8The third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,

9The fifth to Melchia, the sixth to Maiman,

10The seventh to Accos, the eighth to Abia,

11The ninth to Jesua, the tenth to Sechenia,

12The eleventh to Eliasib, the twelfth to Jacim,

13The thirteenth to Hoppha, the fourteenth to Isbaab,

14The fifteenth to Belga, the sixteenth to Emmer,

15The seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Aphses,

16The nineteenth to Pheteia, the twentieth to Hezechiel,

17The one and twentieth to Jachin, the two and twentieth to Gamul,

18The three and twentieth to Dalaiau, the four and twentieth to Maaziau.

19These are their courses according to their ministries, to come into the house of the Lord, and according to their manner under the hand of Aaron their father: as the Lord the God of Israel had commanded.

20Now of the rest of the sons of Levi, there was of the sons of Amram, Subael: and of the sons of Subael, Jehedeia.

21Also of the sons of Rohobia the chief Jesias.

22And the son of Isaar Salemoth, and the son of Salemoth Jahath:

23And his son Jeriau the first, Amarias the second, Jahaziel the third, Jecmaan the fourth.

24The son of Oziel, Micha: the son of Micha, Samir.

25The brother of Micha, Jesia: and the son of Jesia, Zacharias.

26The sons of Merari: Moholi and Musi: the son of Oziau: Benno.

27The son also of Merari: Oziau, and Seam, and Zacchur, and Hebri.

28And the son of Moholi: Eleazar, who had no sons.

29And the son of Cis, Jeramael.

30The sons of Musi: Moholi, Eder, and Jerimoth. These are the sons of Levi according to the houses of their families.

31And they also cast lots over against their brethren the sons of Aaron before David the king, and Sadoc, and Ahimelech, and the princes of the priestly and Levitical families, both the elder and the younger. The lot divided all equally.
