Isaías 54

1Regocíjate, estéril, tú que estabas sin hijos, prorrumpe en júbilo y gritos de alegría, tú que nunca estuviste de parto; pues son más numerosos los hijos de la abandonada que los hijos de aquella que tiene marido, dice Yahvé.

2Dilata el lugar de tu tienda, que se hagan más anchas las pieles de tu pabellón; no seas parca en ello, alarga tus cuerdas, y afianza tus estacas.

3Pues te extenderás a la derecha y a la izquierda; porque tu prole poseerá las naciones, y poblará las ciudades desoladas.

4No temas, pues no quedarás confundida; no te avergüences, porque no tendrás de qué avergonzarte. Te olvidarás de la vergüenza de tu juventud, y no te acordarás más del oprobio de tu viudez.

5Porque esposo tuyo es tu Creador, cuyo nombre es Yahvé de los ejércitos, y tú redentor es el Santo de Israel, que se llama Dios de toda la tierra.

6Pues Yahvé te ha llamado (de nuevo) como a una mujer abandonada y afligida de espíritu, como a la esposa de la juventud que ha sido repudiada, dice tu Dios.

7Por un breve momento te abandoné; mas con gran misericordia te acogeré de nuevo.

8En un desborde de ira te oculté por un instante mi rostro; pero con eterna misericordia tuve compasión de ti, dice Yahvé, tu Redentor.

9Pues esto es para Mí (como lo de) las aguas de Noé, cuando juré que las aguas de Noé no inundarían más la tierra; así he jurado no enfurecerme más contra ti, ni amenazarte.

10Aun cuando se muevan los montes y vacilen los collados, mi misericordia no se alejará de ti, y no vacilará mi alianza de paz, dice el que se compadece de ti, Yahvé.

11Pobrecita, azotada por la tempestad, y que estás sin consuelo, he aquí que Yo asentaré tus piedras sobre carbunclos, y te cimentaré sobre zafiros.

12Construiré tus almenas con rubíes, tus puertas con piedras de cristal; y toda tu muralla con piedras preciosas.

13Todos tus hijos serán instruidos por Yahvé, y gozarán de abundancia de paz.

14Serás restablecida en justicia; y estarás lejos de la opresión, pues nada tendrás que temer; y lejos del espanto, el cual no te alcanzará más.

15Si (enemigos) se juntan contra ti, no es de parte mía; cuantos se juntaren contra ti, delante de ti caerán.

16He aquí que Yo he hecho al herrero, que sopla las brasas del fuego y forja el arma para su obra. Yo he hecho también al devastador para destruir.

17Toda arma forjada contra ti será ineficaz, y tú condenarás toda lengua que se mueva para juzgarte. Esta es la herencia de los siervos de Yahvé y la justicia que de Mí les vendrá —oráculo de Yahvé.

1[Lauda, sterilis, quæ non paris; decanta laudem, et hinni, quæ non pariebas: quoniam multi filii desertæ magis quam ejus quæ habet virum, dicit Dominus.

2Dilata locum tentorii tui, et pelles tabernaculorum tuorum extende: ne parcas: longos fac funiculos tuos, et clavos tuos consolida.

3Ad dexteram enim et ad lævam penetrabis, et semen tuum gentes hæreditabit, et civitates desertas inhabitabit.

4Noli timere, quia non confunderis, neque erubesces; non enim te pudebit, quia confusionis adolescentiæ tuæ oblivisceris, et opprobrii viduitatis tuæ non recordaberis amplius.

5Quia dominabitur tui qui fecit te, Dominus exercituum nomen ejus, et redemptor tuus, Sanctus Israël: Deus omnis terræ vocabitur.

6Quia et mulierem derelictam et mœrentem spiritu vocavit te Dominus, et uxorem ab adolescentia abjectam, dixit Deus tuus.

7Ad punctum in modico dereliqui te, et in miserationibus magnis congregabo te.

8In momento indignationis abscondi faciem meam parumper a te; et in misericordia sempiterna misertus sum tui, dixit redemptor tuus, Dominus.

9Sicut in diebus Noë istud mihi est, cui juravi ne inducerem aquas Noë ultra super terram; sic juravi ut non irascar tibi, et non increpem te.

10Montes enim commovebuntur, et colles contremiscent; misericordia autem mea non recedet a te, et fœdus pacis meæ non movebitur, dixit miserator tuus Dominus.

11Paupercula, tempestate convulsa absque ulla consolatione, ecce ego sternam per ordinem lapides tuos, et fundabo te in sapphiris:

12et ponam jaspidem propugnacula tua, et portas tuas in lapides sculptos, et omnes terminos tuos in lapides desiderabiles;

13universos filios tuos doctos a Domino, et multitudinem pacis filiis tuis.

14Et in justitia fundaberis: recede procul a calumnia, quia non timebis, et a pavore, quia non appropinquabit tibi.

15Ecce accola veniet qui non erat mecum, advena quondam tuus adjungetur tibi.

16Ecce ego creavi fabrum sufflantem in igne prunas, et proferentem vas in opus suum; et ego creavi interfectorem ad disperdendum.

17Omne vas quod fictum est contra te, non dirigetur, et omnem linguam resistentem tibi in judicio, judicabis. Hæc est hæreditas servorum Domini, et justitia eorum apud me, dicit Dominus.]

1Give praise, O thou barren, that bearest not: sing forth praise, and make a joyful noise, thou that didst not travail with child: for many are the children of the desolate, more than of her that hath a husband, saith the Lord.

2Enlarge the place of thy tent, and stretch out the skins of thy tabernacles, spare not: lengthen thy cords, and strengthen thy stakes.

3For thou shalt pass on to the right hand, and to the left: and thy seed shall inherit the Gentiles, and shall inhabit the desolate cities.

4Fear not, for thou shalt not be confounded, nor blush: for thou shalt not be put to shame, because thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt remember no more the reproach of thy widowhood.

5For he that made thee shall rule over thee, the Lord of hosts is his name: and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, shall be called the God of all the earth.

6For the Lord hath called thee as woman forsaken and mourning in spirit, and as a wife cast off from her youth, said thy God.

7For a, small moment have I forsaken thee, but with great mercies will I gather thee.

8In a moment of indignation have I hid my face a little while from thee, but with everlasting kindness have I had mercy on thee, said the Lord thy Redeemer.

9This thing is to me as in the days of Noe, to whom I swore, that I would no more bring in the waters of Noe upon the earth: so have I sworn not to be angry with thee, and not to rebuke thee.

10For the mountains shall be moved, and the hills shall tremble; but my mercy shall not depart from thee, and the covenant of my peace shall not be moved: said the Lord that hath mercy on thee.

11O poor little one, tossed with tempest, without all comfort, behold I will lay thy stones in order, and will lay thy foundations with sapphires,

12And I will make thy bulwarks of jasper: and thy gates of graven stones, and all thy borders of desirable stones.

13All thy children shall be taught of the Lord: and great shall be the peace of thy children.

14And thou shalt be founded in justice: depart far from oppression, for thou shalt not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near thee.

15Behold, an inhabitant shall come, who was not with me, he that was a stranger to thee before, shall be joined to thee.

16Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and bringeth forth an instrument for his work, and I have created the killer to destroy.

17No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper: and every tongue that resisteth thee in judgment, thou shalt condemn. This is the inheritance of the servants of the Lord, and their justice with me, saith the Lord.
