关于这个版本1Now the Lord prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonas: and Jonas was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.
2And Jonas prayed to the Lord his God out of the belly of the fish.
3And he said: I cried out of my affliction to the Lord, and he heard me: I cried out of the belly of hell, and thou hast heard my voice.
4And thou hast cast me forth into the deep in the heart of the sea, and a flood hath compassed me: all thy billows, and thy waves have passed over me.
5And I said: I am cast away out of the sight of thy eyes: but yet I shall see thy holy temple again.
6The waters compassed me about even to the soul: the deep hath closed me round about, the sea hath covered my head.
7I went down to the lowest parts of the mountains: the bars of the earth have shut me up for ever: and thou wilt bring up my life from corruption, O Lord my God.
8When my soul was in distress within me, I remembered the Lord: that my prayer may come to thee, unto thy holy temple.
9They that are vain observe vanities, forsake their own mercy.
10But I with the voice of praise will sacrifice to thee: I will pay whatsoever I have vowed for my salvation to the Lord.
11And the Lord spoke to the fish: and it vomited out Jonas upon the dry land.

4Et projecisti me in profundum in corde maris, et flumen circumdedit me: omnes gurgites tui, et fluctus tui super me transierunt.
5Et ego dixi: Abjectus sum a conspectu oculorum tuorum; verumtamen rursus videbo templum sanctum tuum.
6Circumdederunt me aquæ usque ad animam: abyssus vallavit me, pelagus operuit caput meum.
9Qui custodiunt vanitates frustra, misericordiam suam derelinquunt.
10Ego autem in voce laudis immolabo tibi: quæcumque vovi, reddam pro salute Domino.]
11Et dixit Dominus pisci, et evomuit Jonam in aridam.

关于这个版本1And the Lord prepared a great fish to swallow Jonah. And Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days and three nights.
2And Jonah prayed to the Lord, his God, from the belly of the fish.
3And he said: “I cried out to the Lord from my tribulation, and he heeded me. From the belly of hell, I cried out, and you heeded my voice.
4And you have thrown me into the deep, in the heart of the sea, and a flood has encircled me. All your whirlpools and your waves have passed over me.
5And I said: I am expelled from the sight of your eyes. Yet, truly, I will see your holy temple again.
6The waters surrounded me, even to the soul. The abyss has walled me in. The ocean has covered my head.
7I descended to the base of the mountains. The bars of the earth have enclosed me forever. And you will raise up my life from corruption, Lord, my God.
8When my soul was in anguish within me, I called to mind the Lord, so that my prayer might come to you, to your holy temple.
9Those who in vain observe vanities, abandon their own mercy.
10But I, with a voice of praise, will sacrifice to you. I will repay whatever I have vowed to the Lord, because of my salvation.”
11And the Lord spoke to the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land.
