Levítico 18

1O Senhor falou a Moisés, dizendo:

2Fala aos filhos de Israel, e dize-lhes: Eu sou o Senhor vosso Deus:

3vós não procediereis conforme os costumes do país do Egipto, em que habitastes, nem vos portareis segundo o costume da terra de Canaan, na qual eu vos hei-de introduzir, nem andareis segundo as suas leis.

4Praticareis os meus mandamentos, observareis os meus preceitos, andareis neles. Eu Sou o Senhor vosso Deus.

5Guardai as minhas leis e os meus mandamentos; o homem que os observa, viverá por eles. Eu sou o Senhor.

6Nenhum homem se aproximará duma mulher, que lhe é próxima por sangue, para descobrir a sua nudez. Eu sou o Senhor.

7Não descobrirás a nudez de teu pai nem a nudez de tua mãe; ela é tua mãe, não descobrirás a sua nudez.

8Não descobrirás a nudez da mulher de teu pai, porque é nudez de seu pai.

9Não descobrirás a nudez de tua irmã, por parte do pai, ou por parte da mãe, tenha ela nascido dentro ou fora de casa.

10Não descobrirás a nudez da filha de teu filho, nem da filha de tua filha, porque é tua nudez.

11Não descobrirás a nudez da filha da mulher de teu pai, a qual ela deu à luz a teu: pai, porque é tua irmã.

12Não descobrirás a nudez da irmã de teu pai, porque é carne de teu pai.

13Não descobrirás a nudez da irmã de tua mãe, porque é carne da tua mãe.

14Não descobrirás a nudez de teu tio paterno, nem te aproximarás da sua mulher, a qual é tua parente por afinidade.

15Não descobrirás a nudez de tua nora, porque é mulher de teu filho; não descobrirás a sua nudez.

16Não descobrirás a nudez da mulher de teu irmão, porque é nudez de teu irmão.

17Não descobrirás a nudez de uma mulher e da sua filha, nem tomarás a filha do seu filho, nem a filha de sua filha, para descobrires a sua nudez, porque são carne dessa (mulher), e isso é um crime.

18Não tomarás por mulher secundária a irmã de tua mulher, nem descobrirás a sua nudez enquanto tua mulher for viva.

19Não te aproximarás da mulher que padece o seu mênstruo, nem descobrirás a sua nudez.

20Não te unirás com mulher do teu próximo, nem te mancharás com semelhante união.

21Não darás nenhum de teus filhos para ser passado (pelo fogo), em honra de Moloch, nem profanarás o nome do teu Deus. Eu sou o Senhor.

22Não te aproximarás dum homem como se fosse mulher, porque é uma abominação.

23Não te juntarás com animal algum nem te mancharás com ele. À mulher não se prostituirá a nenhum animal, nem se misturará com ele, porque é uma perversidade.

24Não vos mancheis com nenhuma dessas coisas, com que se têm contaminado todas as gentes que eu expulsarei da vossa vista.

25Mancharam esta terra, castigarei seus crimes e a terra vomitará seus habitantes.

26Guardai as minhas leis e os meus mandamentos, e não cometais nenhuma destas abominações, tanto os naturais como os estrangeiros entre vós.

27Todas estas execrações cometeram os que foram antes de vós habitantes desta terra, e assim a contaminaram.

28Vede, pois, não suceda que, assim como ela vomitou a gente que aqui estava antes de vós, vos vomite também a vós, se fizerdes outro tanto.

29Todo aquele que cometer alguma destas abominações, será eliminado do meio do seu povo.

30Guardai os meus mandamentos. Não pratiqueis o que praticaram os que estiveram antes de vós, e não vos mancheis com estas (infâmias). Eu sou o Senhor vosso Deus.

2Loquere filiis Israël, et dices ad eos: Ego Dominus Deus vester:

3juxta consuetudinem terræ Ægypti, in qua habitastis, non facietis: et juxta morem regionis Chanaan, ad quam ego introducturus sum vos, non agetis, nec in legitimis eorum ambulabitis.

4Facietis judicia mea, et præcepta mea servabitis, et ambulabitis in eis. Ego Dominus Deus vester.

5Custodite leges meas atque judicia, quæ faciens homo, vivet in eis. Ego Dominus.

6Omnis homo ad proximam sanguinis sui non accedet, ut revelet turpitudinem ejus. Ego Dominus.

7Turpitudinem patris tui et turpitudinem matris tuæ non discooperies: mater tua est: non revelabis turpitudinem ejus.

8Turpitudinem uxoris patris tui non discooperies: turpitudo enim patris tui est.

9Turpitudinem sororis tuæ ex patre sive ex matre, quæ domi vel foris genita est, non revelabis.

10Turpitudinem filiæ filii tui vel neptis ex filia non revelabis: quia turpitudo tua est.

11Turpitudinem filiæ uxoris patris tui, quam peperit patri tuo, et est soror tua, non revelabis.

12Turpitudinem sororis patris tui non discooperies: quia caro est patris tui.

13Turpitudinem sororis matris tuæ non revelabis, eo quod caro sit matris tuæ.

14Turpitudinem patrui tui non revelabis, nec accedes ad uxorem ejus, quæ tibi affinitate conjungitur.

15Turpitudinem nurus tuæ non revelabis, quia uxor filii tui est: nec discooperies ignominiam ejus.

16Turpitudinem uxoris fratris tui non revelabis: quia turpitudo fratris tui est.

17Turpitudinem uxoris tuæ et filiæ ejus non revelabis. Filiam filii ejus, et filiam filiæ illius non sumes, ut reveles ignominiam ejus: quia caro illius sunt, et talis coitus incestus est.

18Sororem uxoris tuæ in pellicatum illius non accipies, nec revelabis turpitudinem ejus adhuc illa vivente.

19Ad mulierem quæ patitur menstrua non accedes, nec revelabis fœditatem ejus.

20Cum uxore proximi tui non coibis, nec seminis commistione maculaberis.

21De semine tuo non dabis ut consecretur idolo Moloch, nec pollues nomen Dei tui. Ego Dominus.

22Cum masculo non commiscearis coitu femineo, quia abominatio est.

23Cum omni pecore non coibis, nec maculaberis cum eo. Mulier non succumbet jumento, nec miscebitur ei, quia scelus est.

24Nec polluamini in omnibus his quibus contaminatæ sunt universæ gentes, quas ego ejiciam ante conspectum vestrum,

25et quibus polluta est terra: cujus ego scelera visitabo, ut evomat habitatores suos.

26Custodite legitima mea atque judicia, et non faciatis ex omnibus abominationibus istis, tam indigena quam colonus qui peregrinantur apud vos.

27Omnes enim execrationes istas fecerunt accolæ terræ qui fuerunt ante vos, et polluerunt eam.

28Cavete ergo ne et vos similiter evomat, cum paria feceritis, sicut evomuit gentem, quæ fuit ante vos.

29Omnis anima, quæ fecerit de abominationibus his quippiam, peribit de medio populi sui.

30Custodite mandata mea. Nolite facere quæ fecerunt hi qui fuerunt ante vos, et ne polluamini in eis. Ego Dominus Deus vester.

1And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:

2Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: I am the Lord your God.

3You shall not do according to the custom of the land of Egypt, in which you dwelt: neither shall you act according to the manner of the country of Chanaan, into which I will bring you, nor shall you walk in their ordinances.

4You shall do my judgments, and shall observe my precepts, and shall walk in them. I am the Lord your God.

5Keep my laws and my judgments, which if a man do, he shall live in them. I am the Lord.

6No man shall approach to her that is near of kin to him, to uncover her nakedness. I am the Lord.

7Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father, or the nakedness of thy mother: she is thy mother, thou shalt not uncover her nakedness.

8Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s wife: for it is the nakedness of thy father.

9Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy sister by father or by mother, whether born at home or abroad.

10Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy son’s daughter, or thy daughter’s daughter: because it is thy own nakedness.

11Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s wife’s daughter, whom she bore to thy father, and who is thy sister.

12Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s sister: because she is the flesh of thy father.

13Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy mother’s sister: because she is thy mother’s flesh.

14Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy father’s brother: neither shalt thou approach to his wife, who is joined to thee by affinity.

15Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy daughter in law: because she is thy son’s wife, neither shalt thou discover her shame.

16Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy brother’s wife: because it is the nakedness of thy brother.

17Thou shalt not uncover the nakedness of thy wife and her daughter. Thou shalt not take her son’s daughter or her daughter’s daughter, to discover her shame: because they are her flesh, and such copulation is incest.

18Thou shalt not take thy wife’s sister for a harlot, to rival her, neither shalt thou discover her nakedness, while she is yet living.

19Thou shalt not approach to a woman having her flowers, neither shalt thou uncover her nakedness.

20Thou shalt not lie with thy neighbour’s wife, nor be defiled with mingling of seed.

21Thou shalt not give any of thy seed to be consecrated to the idol Moloch, nor defile the name of thy God: I am the Lord.

22Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind, because it is an abomination.

23Thou shalt not copulate with any beast, neither shalt thou be defiled with it. A woman shall not lie down to a beast, nor copulate with it: because it is a heinous crime.

24Defile not yourselves with any of these things with which all the nations have been defiled, which I will cast out before you,

25And with which the land is defiled: the abominations of which I will visit, that it may vomit out its inhabitants.

26Keep ye my ordinances and my judgments, and do not any of these abominations: neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you.

27For all these detestable things the inhabitants of the land have done, that; were before you, and have defiled it.

28Beware then, lest in like manner, it vomit you also out, if you do the like things, as it vomited out the nation that was before you.

29Every soul that shall commit any of these abominations, shall perish from the midst of his people.

30Keep my commandments. Do not the things which they have done, that have been before you, and be not defiled therein. I am the Lord your God.
