1Esta é a descendência de Esaú chamado tambem Edom.

2Esaú tomou (as suas) mulheres entre as filhas de Canaan: Ada, filha de Elon Heteu, e Oolibama, filha de Ana, filha de Sebeon Heveu:

3(tomou) também Basemath, filha de Ismael, irmã de Nabajoth.

4Ada deu à luz Elifás; Basemath gerou Rauel;

5Oolibama gerou Jeus, Jelon e Coré. Estes são os filhos de Esaú, que lhe nasceram na terra de Canaan.

6Depois Esaú tomou suas mulheres, filhos e filhas, toda a gente da sua casa, rebanhos e gados, e tudo o que tinha na terra de Canaan, e foi para outro país, e apartou-se do seu irmão Jacob.

7Com efeito, eram muito ricos e não podiam habitar juntamente, nem os podia sustentar a terra em que eram peregrinos, por causa da multidão dos rebanhos.

8Esaú, por outro nome Edom, habitou sobre o monte de Seir.

9Estes são os descendentes de Esaú, pai dos Idumeus, no monte Seir,

10estes os nomes de seus filhos: Elifás, filho de Ada, mulher de Esaú; Rauel, filho de Basemath, mulher de Esaú.

11Os filhos de Elifás foram: Teman, Omar, Sefo, Catam e Cenez.

12Tamna era mulher secundária de Efifás, filho de Esaú, e ela deu-lhe à luz Amalech. Estes são os filhos de Ada, mulher de Esaú.

13Os filhos de Rauel foram: Nabath, Zara, Sama e Meza. Estes foram os filhos de Basemath, mulher de Esaú.

14Os filhos de Oolibama, filha de Ana, filha de Sebeon, mulher de Esaú, foram: Jeus, Jelon e Coré.

15Estes são os chefes (das tribos oriundas) dos filhos de Esaú: filhos de Elifás, primogénito de Esaú, foram o chefe Teman, o chefe Omar, o chefe Sefo, o chefe Cenez,

16o chefe Coré, o chefe Gatem, o chefe Amalech. Estes (são) os filhos de Elifás, na terra de Edom, e estes os filhos de Ada.

17Estes (são) os filhos de Rauel, filho de Esaú: o chefe Naath, o chefe Zara, o chefe Sama, o chefe Meza; estes (são) os chefes (descendentes) de Rauel, na terra de Edom; estes (são) os filhos de Basemath, mulher de Esaú.

18E estes são os filhos de Oolibama, mulher de Esaú: o chefe Jeus, o chefe Jelon, o chefe Coré; estes os chefes que procederam de Oolibama, filha de Ana, mulher de Esaú.

19Estes são os filhos de Esaú, isto é, de Edom; e estes os seus chefes.

20Estes são os filhas de Seir Horreu, que habitavam aquela terra: Lotan, Sobal, Sebeon, Ana,

21Dison, Eser e Disan; estes os chefes Horreus, filhos de Seir, na terra de Edom.

22Os filhos de Lotan foram: Hori e Hemon. Tamna era irmã de Lotan.

23Estes (foram) os filhos de Sobal: Alvau, Manaath, Ebal, Sefo e Onam.

24E estes os filhos de Sebeon: Aía e Ana. Este Ana é o que achou umas águas quentes no deserto, enquanto apascentava os jumentos de seu pai Sebeon:

25teve um filho (chamado) Dison, e uma filha (chamada) Oolibama.

26E estes (são) os filhos de Dison: Hamdan, Eseban, Jetrão e Charão.

27Do mesmo modo estes (são) os filhos de Eser: Balaão, Zavan e Acan.

28Disan teve estes filhos: Hus e Arão.

29Estes são os chefes dos Hoireus: o chefe Lotan, o chefe Sobal, o chefe Sebeon, o chefe Ana,

30o chefe Dison, o chefe Eser, o chefe Disan; estes os chefes dos Horreus, que governaram na terra de Seir.

31Os reis, porém, que reinaram na terra de Edom, antes que os filhos de Israel tivessem rei, foram estes:

32Bela, filho de Beor, reinou em Edom, e o nome da sua cidade (foi) Denaba.

33Morreu, porém, Bela, e reinou em seu lugar Jobab, filho de Zara de Bosra.

34Tendo falecido Jobab, reinou em seu lugar Husão, da terra dos Temanitas.

35Morto também este, reinou em seu lugar Adad, filho de Badad, o qual derrotou os Madianitas no país de Moab; o nome da sua cidade era Avith.

36Tendo falecido Adad, reinou em seu lugar Semla de Masreca.

37Morto este também, reinou em seu lugar Saul, de Rooboth, que está perto do rio.

38Tendo este também falecido, sucedeu no reino Balanan, filho de Acobor.

39Morto também este, reinou em seu lugar Adar: o nome da sua cidade era Fau, e sua mulher chamava-se Meetabel, filha de Matred, (que era) filha de Mezaab.

40Estes são, pois, os nomes dos chefes que procederam de Esaú, segundo suas estirpes, seus lugares e seus nomes: o chefe Tamna, o chefe Alva, o chefe Jeteth,

41o chefe Oolibama, o chefe Ela, o chefe Fincai,

42o chefe Cenez, o chefe Teman, o chefe Malsa,

43o chefe Magdiel, o chefe Hirão. Estes (são) os chefes de Edom (isto é, de Esaú, pai dois Idumeus) segundo a residência dos mesmos, na terra que ocupavam.

1Hæ sunt autem generationes Esau, ipse est Edom.

2Esau accepit uxores de filiabus Chanaan: Ada filiam Elon Hethæi, et Oolibama filiam Anæ filiæ Sebeon Hevæi:

3Basemath quoque filiam Ismaël sororem Nabaioth.

4Peperit autem Ada Eliphaz: Basemath genuit Rahuel:

5Oolibama genuit Jehus et Ihelon et Core. Hi filii Esau qui nati sunt ei in terra Chanaan.

6Tulit autem Esau uxores suas et filios et filias, et omnem animam domus suæ, et substantiam, et pecora, et cuncta quæ habere poterat in terra Chanaan: et abiit in alteram regionem, recessitque a fratre suo Jacob.

7Divites enim erant valde, et simul habitare non poterant: nec sustinebat eos terra peregrinationis eorum præ multitudine gregum.

8Habitavitque Esau in monte Seir, ipse est Edom.

9Hæ autem sunt generationes Esau patris Edom in monte Seir,

10et hæc nomina filiorum ejus: Eliphaz filius Ada uxoris Esau: Rahuel quoque filius Basemath uxoris ejus.

11Fueruntque Eliphaz filii: Theman, Omar, Sepho, et Gatham, et Cenez.

12Erat autem Thamna concubina Eliphaz filii Esau: quæ peperit ei Amalech. Hi sunt filii Ada uxoris Esau.

13Filii autem Rahuel: Nahath et Zara, Samma et Meza: hi filii Basemath uxoris Esau.

14Isti quoque erant filii Oolibama filiæ Anæ filiæ Sebeon, uxoris Esau, quos genuit ei, Jehus et Ihelon et Core.

15Hi duces filiorum Esau: filii Eliphaz primogeniti Esau: dux Theman, dux Omra, dux Sepho, dux Cenez,

16dux Core, dux Gathan, dux Amalech. Hi filii Eliphaz in terra Edom, et hi filii Ada.

17Hi quoque filii Rahuel filii Esau: dux Nahath, dux Zara, dux Samma, dux Meza: hi autem duces Rahuel in terra Edom: isti filii Basemath uxoris Esau.

18Hi autem filii Oolibama uxoris Esau: dux Jehus, dux Ihelon, dux Core: hi duces Oolibama filiæ Anæ uxoris Esau.

19Isti sunt filii Esau, et hi duces eorum: ipse est Edom.

20Isti sunt filii Seir Horræi, habitatores terræ: Lotan, et Sobal, et Sebeon, et Ana,

21et Dison, et Eser, et Disan: hi duces Horræi, filii Seir in terra Edom.

22Facti sunt autem filii Lotan: Hori et Heman. Erat autem soror Lotan, Thamna.

23Et isti filii Sobal: Alvan et Manahat et Ebal, et Sepho et Onam.

24Et hi filii Sebeon: Aja et Ana. Iste est Ana qui invenit aquas calidas in solitudine, cum pasceret asinos Sebeon patris sui:

25habuitque filium Dison, et filiam Oolibama.

26Et isti filii Dison: Hamdan, et Eseban, et Jethram, et Charan.

27Hi quoque filii Eser: Balaan, et Zavan, et Acan.

28Habuit autem filios Disan: Hus et Aram.

29Hi duces Horræorum: dux Lotan, dux Sobal, dux Sebeon, dux Ana,

30dux Dison, dux Eser, dux Disan: isti duces Horræorum qui imperaverunt in terra Seir.

31Reges autem qui regnaverunt in terra Edom antequam haberent regem filii Israël, fuerunt hi:

32Bela filius Beor, nomenque urbis ejus Denaba.

33Mortuus est autem Bela, et regnavit pro eo Jobab filius Zaræ de Bosra.

34Cumque mortuus esset Jobab, regnavit pro eo Husam de terra Themanorum.

35Hoc quoque mortuo, regnavit pro eo Adad filius Badad, qui percussit Madian in regione Moab: et nomen urbis ejus Avith.

36Cumque mortuus esset Adad, regnavit pro eo Semla de Masreca.

37Hoc quoque mortuo regnavit pro eo Saul de fluvio Rohoboth.

38Cumque et hic obiisset, successit in regnum Balanan filius Achobor.

39Isto quoque mortuo regnavit pro eo Adar, nomenque urbis ejus Phau: et appellabatur uxor ejus Meetabel, filia Matred filiæ Mezaab.

40Hæc ergo nomina ducum Esau in cognationibus, et locis, et vocabulis suis: dux Thamna, dux Alva, dux Jetheth,

41dux Oolibama, dux Ela, dux Phinon,

42dux Cenez, dux Theman, dux Mabsar,

43dux Magdiel, dux Hiram: hi duces Edom habitantes in terra imperii sui, ipse est Esau pater Idumæorum.

1And these are the generations of Esau, the same is Edom.

2Esau took wives of the daughters of Chanaan: Ada the daughter of Elon the Hethite, and Oolibama the daughter of Ana, the daughter of Sebeon the Hevite:

3And Basemath the daughter of Ismael, sister of Nabajoth.

4And Ada bore Eliphaz: Basemath bore Rahuel:

5Oolibama bore Jehus and Ihelon and Core. These are the sons of Esau, that were born to him in the land of Chanaan.

6And Esau took his wives and his sons and daughters, and every soul of his house, and his substance, and cattle, and all that he was able to acquire in the land of Chanaan: and went into another country, and departed from his brother Jacob.

7For they were exceeding rich, and could not dwell together: neither was the land in which they sojourned able to bear them, for the multitude of their flocks.

8And Esau dwelt in mount Seir: he is Edom.

9And these are the generations of Esau the father of Edom in mount Seir,

10And these the names of his sons: Eliphaz the son of Ada the wife of Esau: and Rahuel the son of Basemath his wife.

11And Eliphaz had sons: Theman, Omar, Sepho, and Gatham, and Cenez.

12And Thamna was the concubine of Eliphaz the son of Esau: and she bore him Amalech. These are the sons of Ada the wife of Esau.

13And the sons of Rahuel were Nahath and Zara, Samma and Meza. These were the sons of Basemath the wife of Esau.

14And these were the sons of Oolibama, the daughter of Ana, the daughter of Sebeon, the wife of Esau, whom she bore to him, Jehus, and Ihelon, and Core.

15These were dukes of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the firstborn of Esau: duke Theman, duke Omar, duke Sepho, duke Cenez,

16Duke Core, duke Gatham, duke Amalech: these are the sons of Eliphaz, in the land of Edom, and these the sons of Ada.

17And these were the sons of Rahuel, the son of Esau: duke Nahath, duke Zara, duke Samma, duke Meza. And these are the dukes of Rahuel, in the land of Edom: these the sons of Basemath the wife of Esau.

18And these the sons of Oolibama the wife of Esau: duke Jehus, duke Ihelon, duke Core. These are the dukes of Oolibama, the daughter of Ana, and wife of Esau.

19These are the sons of Esau, and these the dukes of them: the same is Edom.

20These are the sons of Seir the Horrite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, and Sobal, and Sebeon, and Ana,

21And Dison, and Eser, and Disan. These are dukes of the Horrites, the sons of Seir in the land of Edom.

22And Lotan had sons: Hori and Heman. And the sister of Lotan was Thamna.

23And these the sons of Sobal: Alvan and Manahat, and Ebal, and Sepho, and Oman.

24And these the sons of Sebeon: Aia and Ana. This is Ana that found the hot waters in the wilderness, when he fed the asses of Sebeon his father:

25And he had a son Dison, and a daughter Oolibama.

26And these were the sons of Dison: Hamdan, and Eseban, and Jethram, and Charan.

27These also were the sons of Eser: Balaan, and Zavan, and Acan.

28And Disan had sons: Hus, and Aram.

29These were dukes of the Horrites: duke Lotan, duke Sobal, duke Sebeon, duke Ana,

30Duke Dison, duke Eser, duke Disan: these were dukes of the Horrites that ruled in the land of Seir.

31And the kings that ruled in the land of Edom, before the children of Israel had a king were these:

32Bela the son of Beor, and the name of his city Denaba.

33And Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zara of Bosra reigned in his stead.

34And when Jobab was dead, Husam of the land of the Themanites reigned in his stead.

35And after his death, Adad the son of Badad reigned in his stead, who defeated the Madianites in the country of Moab: and the name of his city was Avith.

36And when Adad was dead, there reigned in his stead, Semla of Masreca.

37And he being dead, Saul of the river Rohoboth, reigned in his stead.

38And when he also was dead, Balanan the son of Achobor succeeded to the kingdom.

39This man also being dead, Adar reigned in his place, and the name of his city was Phau: and his wife was called Meetabel, the daughter of Matred, daughter of Mezaab.

40And these are the names of the dukes of Esau in their kindreds, and places, and callings: duke Thamna, duke Alva, duke Jetheth,

41Duke Oolibama, duke Ela, duke Phinon,

42Duke Cenez, duke Theman, duke Mabsar,

43Duke Magdiel, duke Hiram: these are the dukes of Edom dwelling in the land of their government; the same is Esau the father of the Edomites.
