10Cus gerou Neinrod, o qual começou a ser poderoso na terra. Mesraim gerou Ludim, Anamim, Laabim, Neftuim,

12Fetrusim e Casluim, dos quais procederam os Filisteus e os Caftorins.

13Canaan gerou Sidon, seu primogênito, e também o Heteu,

14o Jebuseu, o Amorreu, o Gergeseu,

15o Heveu, o Araceu, o Sineu,

16e também o Aradiano, o Samareu e o Hamateu.

17Filhos de Sem: Elão, Assur, Arfaxad, Lud, Arão, Hus, Hul, Geter e Mosoc.

18Arfaxad gerou Sale, o qual depois gerou Heber.

19Heber teve dois filhos, um dos quais foi chamado Faleg, porque em seu tempo se dividiu a terra; o nome do seu irmão foi Jectan.

20Jectan, gerou Elmodad, Salef, Asarmot, Jare,

21Adorão, Iluzal, Decla,

22Hebal, Abimael, Saba,

23Ofir, Hevila e Jobab. Todos estes eram filhos de Jectan.

24(Descendentes de) Sem: Arfaxad, Sale,

25Heber, Faleg, Ragau,

26Serug, Nacor, Taré,

27Abrão, o mesmo que Abraão.

28Filhos de Abraão: Isaac e Ismael.

45Depois da morte de Jobab, reinou em seu lugar Husão, do pais dos Temanitas.

46Morreu Husão, e reinou em seu lugar Adad, filho de Badad, que derrotou os Madianitas na terra de Moab; a sua cidade chamava-se Avit.

47Depois da morte de Adad, reinou em seu lugar Semla de Masreca.

48Semla morreu, e reinou em seu lugar Saul de Roobot, que está situada junto do rio (Eufrates).

49Morto Saul, reinou em seu lugar Balanan, filho de Acobor.

50Balanan morreu, e reinou em seu lugar Adad, cuja cidade se chamava Fau; sua mulher chamava-se Meetabel, filha de Matred, que era filha de Mezaab.

51Morto Adad, houve em Edom governadores (ou juízes) em lugar de reis; o governador Tamna, o governador Alva, o governador Jetet,

52o governador Oolibama, o governador Ela, o governador Finon

53o governador Cenez, o governador Temau, o governador Mabsar,

54o governador Magdiel, o governador Hirão. Estes foram os governadores de Edom.

45Cumque et Jobab fuisset mortuus, regnavit pro eo Husam de terra Themanorum.

46Obiit quoque et Husam, et regnavit pro eo Adad filius Badad, qui percussit Madian in terra Moab: et nomen civitatis ejus Avith.

47Cumque et Adad fuisset mortuus, regnavit pro eo Semla de Masreca.

48Sed et Semla mortuus est, et regnavit pro eo Saul de Rohoboth, quæ juxta amnem sita est.

49Mortuo quoque Saul, regnavit pro eo Balanan filius Achobor.

50Sed et hic mortuus est, et regnavit pro eo Adad: cujus urbis nomen fuit Phau, et appellata est uxor ejus Meetabel filia Matred filiæ Mezaab.

51Adad autem mortuo, duces pro regibus in Edom esse cœperunt: dux Thamna, dux Alva, dux Jetheth,

52dux Oolibama, dux Ela, dux Phinon,

53dux Cenez, dux Theman, dux Mabsar,

54dux Magdiel, dux Hiram: hi duces Edom.

12Phetrusim also, and Casluim: from whom came the Philistines, and Caphtorim.

13And Chanaan beget Sidon his firstborn, and the Hethite,

14And the Jebusite, and the Amorrhite, and the Gergesite,

15And the Hevite, and the Aracite, and the Sinite,

16And the Aradian, and the Samarite, and the Hamathite.

17The sons of Sem: Elam and Asur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Hus, and Hul, and Gether, and Mosoch.

18And Arphaxad beget Sale, and Sale beget Heber.

19And to Heber were born two sons, the name of the one was Phaleg, because In his days the earth was divided; and the name of his brother was Jectan.

20And Jectan beget Elmodad, and Saleph, and Asarmoth, and Jare,

21And Adoram, and Usal, and Decla,

22And Hebal, and Abimael, and Saba,

23And Ophir, and Hevila, and Jobab. All these are the sons of Jectan.

24Sem, Arphaxad, Sale,

25Heber, Phaleg, Ragau,

27Abram, this is Abraham.

28And the sons of Abraham, Isaac and Ismahel.

29And these are the generations of them. The firstborn of Ismahel, Nabajoth, then Cedar, and Adbeel, and Mabsam,

30And Masma, and Duma, Massa, Hadad, and Thema,

31Jetur, Naphis, Cedma: these are the sons of Ismahel.

32And the sons of Cetura, Abraham’s concubine, whom she bore: Zamran, Jecsan, Madan, Madian, Jesboc, and Sue. And the sons of Jecsan, Saba, and Dadan. And the sons of Dadan: Assurim, and Latussim, and Laomin.

47And when Adad also was dead, Semla of Masreca reigned in his stead.

48Semla also died, and Saul of Rohoboth, which is near the river, reigned in his stead.

49And when Saul was dead, Balanan the son of Achobor reigned in his stead.

50He also died, and Adad reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Phau, and his wife was called Meetabel the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezaab.

51And after the death of Adad, there began to be dukes in Edom instead of kings: duke Thamna, duke Alva, duke Jetheth,

52Duke Oolibama, duke Ela, duke Phinon,

53Duke Cenez, duke Theman, duke Mabsar,

54Duke Magdiel, duke Hiram. These are the dukes of Edom.
