1La seconde part échut par le sort à Siméon, à la tribu des fils de Siméon, selon leurs familles : leur héritage fut au milieu de l’héritage des fils de Juda.

2Ils eurent dans leur héritage : Bersabée, Sabée, Molada,

3Haser-Sual, Bala, Asem,

4Eltholad, Béthul, Harma,

5Siceleg, Beth-Marchaboth, Hasersusa,

6Beth-lebaoth et Sarohen : treize villes et leurs villages.

7Aïn, Remmon, Athar et Asan, quatre villes et leurs villages ;

8ainsi que tous les villages aux environs de ces villes, jusqu’à Baalath-Béer, qui est la Ramath du midi. — Tel fut l’héritage de la tribu des fils de Siméon selon leurs familles.

9L’héritage des fils de Siméon fut pris sur la portion des fils de Juda ; car la portion des fils de Juda était trop grande pour eux, et c’est au milieu de leur territoire que les fils de Siméon reçurent leur héritage.

10La troisième part échut par le sort aux fils de Zabulon selon leurs familles ; la frontière de leur héritage s’étendait jusqu’à Sarid.

11Leur frontière montait vers l’occident, vers Mérala, touchait à Debbaseth, touchait au torrent qui coule devant Jéconam.

12De Sarid, elle revenait à l’orient, vers le soleil levant, jusqu’à la frontière de Céseleth-Thabor, aboutissait vers Dabereth et montait à Japhiré.

13De là, elle passait, vers l’orient, vers le soleil levant à Geth-Hépher, à Thacasin, et aboutissait à Remmon, qui confine à Noa.

14La frontière tournait du côté du nord vers Hanathon, et aboutissait à la vallée de Jephtahel.

15Les villes étaient : Catheth, Naalol, Séméron, Jedala et Bethléhem : douze villes et leurs villages. —

16Tel fut l’héritage des fils de Zabulon, selon leurs familles : ces villes et leurs villages.

17La quatrième part échut par le sort à Issachar, aux fils d’Issachar, selon leurs familles.

18Leur frontière était Jezraël, Casaloth, Sunem,

19Hapharaïm, Séon, Anaharath,

20Rabboth, Césion, Abès,

21Ramèth, En-Gannim, En-Hadda et Beth-Phésès.

22La frontière touchait à Thabor, à Séhésima et à Beth-Samès, et aboutissait au Jourdain : seize villes et leurs villages. —

23Tel fut l’héritage de la tribu des fils d’Issachar, selon leurs familles : les villes et leurs villages.

24La cinquième part échut par le sort à la tribu des fils d’Aser, selon leurs familles.

25Leur frontière était Halcath, Chali, Béten, Axaph,

26Elmélech, Amaad et Messal ; elle touchait, vers l’occident, au Carmel et à Sihor-Labanath ;

27puis elle tournait vers Beth-Dagon, touchait Zabulon et la vallée de Jephtahel, au nord de Beth-Emec et de Néhiel, et aboutissait à Caboul, à gauche,

28et à Abran, Rohob, Hamon, et Cana, jusqu’à Sidon la Grande ;

29la frontière tournait ensuite vers Ramath jusqu’à la ville forte de Tyr et la frontière tournait vers Hosa, pour aboutir à la mer, près du district d’Achziba ;

30de plus : Amma, Aphec et Rohob : vingt-deux villes et leurs villages. —

31Tel fut l’héritage de la tribu des fils d’Aser. Selon leurs familles : ces villes et leurs villages.

32La sixième part échut par le sort aux fils de Nephthali, selon leurs familles.

33Leur frontière allait depuis Héleph, à partir du chêne qui est à Saananim, vers Adami-Néceb et Jebnaël, jusqu’à Lécum, et elle aboutissait au Jourdain ;

34la frontière tournait vers l’occident à Azanoth-Thabor, et de là aboutissait à Hucuca ; elle touchait à Zabulon au midi, à Aser à l’occident, et à Juda, près du Jourdain, vers le soleil levant.

35Les villes fortes étaient : Assédim, Ser, Emath, Reccath, Cénéreth,

36Édéma, Arama, Asor,

37Cédès, Édraï, En-Hasor,

38Jéron, Magdalel, Horem, Beth-Anath et Beth-Samès : dix-neuf villes et leurs villages. —

39Tel fut l’héritage de la tribu des fils de Nephthali, selon leurs familles : les villes et leurs villages.

40La septième part échut par le sort à la tribu des fils de Dan, selon leurs familles.

41La frontière de leur héritage comprenait Saraa, Esthaol, Hir-Sémès,

42Sélébin, Ajalon, Jéthéla,

43Élon, Themna, Acron,

44Elthécé, Gebbéthon, Balaath,

45Jud, Bené-Barach, Geth-Remmon ;

46Mé-Jarcon et Arécon, avec le territoire vis-à-vis de Joppé.

47Le territoire des fils de Dan s’étendit au dehors de chez eux ; car les fils de Dan montèrent et combattirent contre Lésem ; ils s’en emparèrent et la frappèrent du tranchant de l’épée ; en ayant pris possession, ils s’y établirent, et l’appelèrent Dan, du nom de Dan, leur père. —

48Tel fut l’héritage de la tribu des fils de Dan, selon leurs familles : les villes et leurs villages.

49Lorsqu’ils eurent achevé de faire le partage du pays, selon ses limites, les enfants d’Israël donnèrent à Josué, fils de Nun, un héritage au milieu d’eux.

50Sur l’ordre de Yahweh, ils lui donnèrent la ville qu’il demanda, Thamnath-Saré, dans la montagne d’Éphraïm. Josué rebâtit cette ville et il y demeura.

51Tels sont les héritages que le prêtre Éléazar, Josué, fils de Nun, et les chefs de famille des tribus des enfants d’Israël répartirent par le sort à Silo, devant Yahweh, à l’entrée de la tente de réunion. Ils achevèrent ainsi le partage du pays.

9in possessione et funiculo filiorum Juda: quia major erat, et idcirco filii Simeon possederunt in medio hæreditatis eorum.

10Ceciditque sors tertia filiorum Zabulon per cognationes suas: factus est terminus possessionis eorum usque Sarid.

11Ascenditque de mari et Merala, et pervenit in Debbaseth, usque ad torrentem qui est contra Jeconam.

12Et revertitur de Sared contra orientem in fines Ceseleththabor: et egreditur ad Dabereth, ascenditque contra Japhie.

13Et inde pertransit usque ad orientalem plagam Gethepher et Thacasin: et egreditur in Remmon, Amthar et Noa.

14Et circuit ad aquilonem Hanathon: suntque egressus ejus vallis Jephthaël,

15et Cateth et Naalol et Semeron et Jerala et Bethlehem: civitates duodecim, et villæ earum.

16Hæc est hæreditas tribus filiorum Zabulon per cognationes suas, urbes et viculi earum.

17Issachar egressa est sors quarta per cognationes suas:

18fuitque ejus hæreditas Jezraël et Casaloth et Sunem

19et Hapharaim et Seon, et Anaharath

20et Rabboth et Cesion, Abes,

21et Rameth, et Engannim, et Enhadda et Bethpheses.

22Et pervenit terminus ejus usque Thabor et Sehesima et Bethsames, eruntque exitus ejus Jordanis: civitates sedecim, et villæ earum.

23Hæc est possessio filiorum Issachar per cognationes suas, urbes et viculi earum.

24Ceciditque sors quinta tribui filiorum Aser per cognationes suas:

25fuitque terminus eorum Halcath et Chali et Beten et Axaph

26et Elmelech et Amaad et Messal: et pervenit usque ad Carmelum maris et Sihor et Labanath,

27ac revertitur contra orientem Bethdagon: et pertransit usque Zabulon et vallem Jephthaël contra aquilonem in Bethemec et Nehiel. Egrediturque ad lævam Cabul,

28et Abran et Rohob et Hamon et Cana, usque ad Sidonem magnam.

29Revertiturque in Horma usque ad civitatem munitissimam Tyrum, et usque Hosa: eruntque exitus ejus in mare de funiculo Achziba:

30et Amma et Aphec et Rohob: civitates viginti duæ, et villæ earum.

31Hæc est possessio filiorum Aser per cognationes suas, urbesque et viculi earum.

32Filiorum Nephthali sexta sors cecidit per familias suas:

33et cœpit terminus de Heleph et Elon in Saananim, et Adami, quæ est Neceb, et Jebnaël usque Lecum: et egressus eorum usque ad Jordanem:

34revertiturque terminus contra occidentem in Azanotthabor, atque inde egreditur in Hucuca, et pertransit in Zabulon contra meridiem, et in Aser contra occidentem, et in Juda ad Jordanem contra ortum solis:

35civitates munitissimæ, Assedim, Ser, et Emath, et Reccath et Cenereth,

36et Edema et Arama, Asor

37et Cedes et Edrai, Enhasor,

38et Jeron et Magdalel, Horem et Bethanath et Bethsames: civitates decem et novem, et villæ earum.

39Hæc est possessio tribus filiorum Nephthali per cognationes suas, urbes et viculi earum.

40Tribui filiorum Dan per familias suas egressa est sors septima:

41et fuit terminus possessionis ejus Sara et Esthaol, et Hirsemes, id est, civitas solis.

42Selebin et Ajalon et Jethela,

43Elon et Themna et Acron,

44Elthece, Gebbethon et Balaath,

45et Jud et Bane et Barach et Gethremmon:

46et Mejarcon et Arecon, cum termino qui respicit Joppen,

47et ipso fine concluditur. Ascenderuntque filii Dan, et pugnaverunt contra Lesem, ceperuntque eam: et percusserunt eam in ore gladii, et possederunt, et habitaverunt in ea, vocantes nomen ejus Lesem Dan, ex nomine Dan patris sui.

48Hæc est possessio tribus filiorum Dan, per cognationes suas, urbes et viculi earum.

49Cumque complesset sorte dividere terram singulis per tribus suas, dederunt filii Israël possessionem Josue filio Nun in medio sui,

50juxta præceptum Domini, urbem quam postulavit Thamnath Saraa in monte Ephraim: et ædificavit civitatem, habitavitque in ea.

51Hæ sunt possessiones, quas sorte diviserunt Eleazar sacerdos, et Josue filius Nun, et principes familiarum ac tribuum filiorum Israël in Silo, coram Domino ad ostium tabernaculi testimonii: partitique sunt terram.

2In the midst of the possession of the children of Juda: Bersabee and Sabee and Molada,

3And Hasersual, Bala and Asem,

4And Eltholad, Bethul and Harma,

5And Siceleg and Bethmarchaboth and Hasersusa,

6And Bethlebaoth and Sarohen: thirteen cities, and their villages.

7Ain and Remmon and Athor and Asan: four cities, and their villages.

8And all the villages round about these cities to Baalath Beer Ramath to the south quarter. This is the inheritance of the children of Simeon according to their kindreds,

9In the possession and lot of the children of Juda: because it was too great, and therefore the children of Simeon had their possession in the midst of their inheritance.

10And the third lot fell to the children of Zabulon by their kindreds: and the border of their possession was unto Sarid.

11And it went up from the sea and from Merala, and came to Debbaseth: as far as the torrent, which is over against Jeconam.

12And it returneth from Sarid eastward to the borders of Ceseleththabor: and it goeth out to Dabereth, and ascendeth towards Japhie.

13And it passeth along from thence to the east side of Gethhepher and Thacasin: and goeth out to Remmon, Amthar and Noa.

14And it turneth about to the north of Hanathon: and the outgoings thereof are the valley of Jephtahel,

15And Cateth and Naalol and Semeron and Jedala and Bethlehem: twelve cities and their villages.

16This is the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Zabulon by their kindreds, the cities and their villages.

17The fourth lot came out to Issachar by their kindreds.

18And his inheritance was Jezrael and Casaloth and Sunem,

19And Hapharaim and Seen and Anaharath,

20And Rabboth and Cesion, Abes,

21And Rameth and Engannim and Enhadda and Bethpheses.

22And the border thereof cometh to Thabor and Sehesima and Bethsames: and the outgoings thereof shall be at the Jordan: sixteen cities, and their villages.

23This is the possession of the sons of Issachar by their kindreds, the cities and their villages.

24And the fifth lot fell to the tribe of the children of Aser by their kindreds:

25And their border was Halcath and Chali and Beten and Axaph,

26And Elmelech and Amaad and Messal: and it reacheth to Carmel by the sea and Sihor and Labanath,

27And it returneth towards the east to Bethdagon: and passeth along to Zabulon and to the valley of Jephthael towards the north to Bethemec and Nehiel. And it goeth out to the left side of Cabul,

28And to Abaran and Rohob and Hamon and Cana, as far as the great Sidon.

29And it returneth to Horma to the strong city of Tyre, and to Hosa: and the outgoings thereof shall be at the sea from the portion of Achziba:

30And Amma and Aphec and Rohob: twenty-two cities, and their villages.

31This is the possession of the children of Aser by their kindreds, and the cities and their villages.

32The sixth lot came out to the sons of Nephtali by their families:

33And the border began from Heleph and Elon to Saananim, and Adami, which is Neceb, and Jebnael even to Lecum: and their outgoings unto the Jordan:

34And the border returneth westward to Azanotthabor, and goeth out from thence to Hucuca, and passeth along to Zabulon southward, and to Aser westward, and to Juda upon the Jordan towards the rising of the sun.

35And the strong cities are Assedim, Ser, and Emath, and Reccath and Cenereth,

36And Edema and Arama, Asor,

37And Cedes and Edri, Enhasor,

38And Jeron and Magdalel, Herem, and Bethanath and Bethsames: nineteen cities, and their villages.

39This is the possession of the tribe of the children of Nephtali by their kindreds, the cities and their villages.

40The seventh lot came out to the tribe of the children of Dan by their families:

41And the border of their possession was Saraa and Esthaol, and Hirsemes, that is, the city of the sun.

42Selebin and Aialon and Jethela,

43Elon and Themna and Acron,

44Elthece, Gebbethon and Balaath,

45And Jud and Bane and Barach and Gethremmon:

46And Mejarcon and Arecon, with the border that looketh towards Joppe,

47And is terminated there. And the children of Dan went up and fought against Lesem, and took it: and they put it to the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt in it, calling the name of it Lesem Dan, by the name of Dan their father.

48This is the possession of the tribe of the sons of Dan, by their kindreds, the cities and their villages.

49And when he had made an end of dividing the land by lot to each one by their tribes, the children of Israel gave a possession to Josue the son of Nun in the midst of them,

50According to the commandment of the Lord, the city which he asked for, Thamnath Saraa, in mount Ephraim: and he built up the city, and dwelt in it.

51These are the possessions which Eleazar the priest, and Josue the son of Nun, and the princes of the families, and of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed by lot in Silo, before the Lord at the door of the tabernacle of the testimony, and they divided the land.
