1Voici les fils d’Israël : Ruben, Siméon, Lévi, Juda, Issachar, Zabulon,

2Dan, Joseph, Benjamin, Nephthali, Gad et Aser.

3Fils de Juda : Her, Onan et Séla ; ces trois lui naquirent de la fille de Sué, la Chananéenne. — Her, premier-né de Juda, était méchant aux yeux de Yahweh, qui le fit mourir. —

4Thamar, belle-fille de Juda, lui enfanta Pharès et Zara. — Tous les fils de Juda furent au nombre de cinq.

5Fils de Pharès : Hesron et Hamul. —

6Fils de Zara : Zamri, Ethan, Eman, Chalchal et Dara : en tout, cinq. —

7Fils de Charmi : Achar, qui troubla Israël par une transgression au sujet d’une chose vouée à l’anathème. —

8Fils d’Ethan : Azarias.

9Fils qui naquirent à Hesron : Jéraméel, Ram et Calubi.

10Ram engendra Aminadab ; Aminadab engendra Nahasson, prince des fils de Juda ;

11Nahasson engendra Salma ; Salma engendra Booz ;

12Booz engendra Obed ; Obed engendra Isaï ;

13Isaï engendra Eliab son premier-né, Abinadab, le deuxième, Simmaa le troisième,

14Nathanaël, le quatrième, Raddaï, le cinquième,

15Asom, le sixième, et David, le septième.

16Leurs sœurs étaient : Sarvia et Abigaïl. — Fils de Sarvia : Abisaï, Joab et Asaël, trois. —

17Abigaïl enfanta Amasa, dont le père fut Jéther, l’Ismaélite.

18Caleb, fils de Hesron eut des enfants d’Azuba, sa femme, et de Jérioth. Voici les fils qu’il eut d’Azuba : Jaser, Sobab et Ardon.

19Azuba mourut, et Caleb prit pour femme Ephrata, qui lui enfanta Hur.

20Hur engendra Uri, et Uri engendra Bézéléel. —

21Ensuite Hesron s’unit à la fille de Machir, père de Galaad : il avait soixante ans quand il la prit ; elle lui enfanta Ségub.

22Ségub engendra Jaïr, qui eut vingt-trois villes dans le pays de Galaad.

23Les Gessuriens et les Syriens leur prirent les Bourgs de Jaïr, ainsi que Canath et les villes de sa dépendance : soixante villes. Tous ceux-là étaient fils de Machir, père de Galaad.

24Après la mort de Hesron à Caleb-Ephrata, Abia, la femme de Hesron, lui enfanta Ashur, père de Thécua.

25Les fils de Jéraméel, premier-né de Hesron, furent : Ram, le premier-né, Buna, Aran, Asom et Achia.

26Jéraméel eut une autre femme, nommée Athara, qui fut mère d’Onam. —

27Les fils de Ram, premier-né de Jéraméel furent : Moos, Jamin et Acar. —

28Les fils d’Onam furent : Séméï et Jada. — Fils de Séméï : Nadab et Abisur.

29Le nom de la femme d’Abisur était Abihaïl, et elle lui enfanta Ahobban et Molid.

30Fils de Nadab : Saled et Apphaïm. Saled mourut sans fils.

31Fils d’Apphaïm : Jési. Fils de Jési : Sésan. Fils de Sesan : Oholaï. —

32Fils de Jada, frère de Séméï : Jéther et Jonathan. Jéther mourut sans fils.

33Fils de Jonathan : Phaleth et Ziza. — Ce sont là les fils de Jéraméel. —

34Sésan n’eut pas de fils, mais il eut des filles. Il avait un esclave Égyptien, nommé Jéraa ;

35il lui donna sa fille pour femme, et elle lui enfanta Ethéï.

36Ethéï engendra Nathan ; Nathan engendra Zabad ;

37Zabad engendra Ophlal ; Ophlal engendra Obed ;

38Obed engendra Jéhu ; Jéhu engendra Azarias ;

39Azarias engendra Hellès ; Hellès engendra Elasa ;

40Elasa engendra Sisamoï ; Sisamoï engendra Sellum ;

41Sellum engendra Icamias, et Icamias engendra Elisama.

42Fils de Caleb, frère de Jéraméel : Mésa, son premier-né, qui fut père de Ziph, et les fils de Marésa, père d’Hébron. —

43Fils d’Hébron : Coré, Thaphua, Récem et Samma.

44Samma engendra Raham, père de Jercaam ; Récem engendra Sammaï. —

45Fils de Sammaï : Maon ; et Maon fut père de Bethsur. —

46Epha, concubine de Caleb, enfanta Haran, Mosa et Gézez. Haran engendra Gézez. —

47Fils de Jahaddaï : Regom, Joathan, Gosan, Phalet, Epha et Saaph. —

48Maacha, concubine de Caleb, enfanta Saber et Tharana.

49Elle enfanta encore Saaph, père de Madména, Sué, père de Machbéna et père de Gabaa. La fille de Caleb était Achsa.

50Ceux-ci furent fils de Caleb. Fils de Hur, premier-né d’Ephrata : Sobal, père de Cariathiarim ;

51Salma, père de Bethléem ; Hariph, père de Bethgader. —

52Les fils de Sobal, père de Cariathiarim, furent : Haroé, Hatsi-Hamménuhoth.

53Les familles de Cariathiarim, furent : les Jethréens, les Aphuthéens, les Sémathéens et les Maséréens. D’eux sont sortis les Saréens et les Esthaoliens. —

54Fils de Salma : Bethléem et les Nétophatiens, Ataroth-Beth-Joab, moitié des Manachtiens, les Saréens,

55ainsi que les familles des Scribes demeurant à Jabès, savoir, les Thiratiens, les Schimathiens et les Sucathiens. Ce sont les Cinéens, issus de Hamath, père de la maison de Réchab.

10Porro Ram genuit Aminadab. Aminadab autem genuit Nahasson, principem filiorum Juda.

11Nahasson quoque genuit Salma, de quo ortus est Booz.

12Booz vero genuit Obed, qui et ipse genuit Isai.

13Isai autem genuit primogenitum Eliab, secundum Abinadab, tertium Simmaa,

14quartum Nathanaël, quintum Raddai,

15sextum Asom, septimum David.

16Quorum sorores fuerunt Sarvia et Abigail. Filii Sarviæ: Abisai, Joab, et Asaël, tres.

17Abigail autem genuit Amasa, cujus pater fuit Jether Ismahelites.

18Caleb vero filius Hesron accepit uxorem nomine Azuba, de qua genuit Jerioth: fueruntque filii ejus Jaser, et Sobab, et Ardon.

19Cumque mortua fuisset Azuba, accepit uxorem Caleb Ephratha, quæ peperit ei Hur.

20Porro Hur genuit Uri, et Uri genuit Bezeleel.

21Post hæc ingressus est Hesron ad filiam Machir patris Galaad, et accepit eam cum esset annorum sexaginta: quæ peperit ei Segub.

22Sed et Segub genuit Jair, et possedit viginti tres civitates in terra Galaad.

23Cepitque Gessur et Aram oppida Jair, et Canath, et viculos ejus sexaginta civitatum: omnes isti filii Machir patris Galaad.

24Cum autem mortuus esset Hesron, ingressus est Caleb ad Ephratha. Habuit quoque Hesron uxorem Abia, quæ peperit ei Assur patrem Thecuæ.

25Nati sunt autem filii Jerameel primogeniti Hesron, Ram primogenitus ejus, et Buna, et Aram, et Asom, et Achia.

26Duxit quoque uxorem alteram Jerameel, nomine Atara, quæ fuit mater Onam.

27Sed et filii Ram primogeniti Jerameel fuerunt Moos, Jamin, et Achar.

28Onam autem habuit filios Semei et Jada. Filii autem Semei: Nadab et Abisur.

29Nomen vero uxoris Abisur, Abihail, quæ peperit ei Ahobban et Molid.

30Filii autem Nadab fuerunt Saled et Apphaim. Mortuus est autem Saled absque liberis.

31Filius vero Apphaim, Jesi: qui Jesi genuit Sesan. Porro Sesan genuit Oholai.

32Filii autem Jada fratris Semei: Jether, et Jonathan. Sed et Jether mortuus est absque liberis.

33Porro Jonathan genuit Phaleth, et Ziza. Isti fuerunt filii Jerameel.

34Sesan autem non habuit filios, sed filias: et servum ægyptium nomine Jeraa.

35Deditque ei filiam suam uxorem: quæ peperit ei Ethei.

36Ethei autem genuit Nathan, et Nathan genuit Zabad.

37Zabad quoque genuit Ophlal, et Ophlal genuit Obed.

38Obed genuit Jehu, Jehu genuit Azariam,

39Azarias genuit Helles, et Helles genuit Elasa.

40Elasa genuit Sisamoi, Sisamoi genuit Sellum,

41Sellum genuit Icamiam, Icamia autem genuit Elisama.

42Filii autem Caleb fratris Jerameel: Mesa primogenitus ejus; ipse est pater Ziph: et filii Maresa patris Hebron.

43Porro filii Hebron, Core, et Taphua, et Recem, et Samma.

44Samma autem genuit Raham, patrem Jercaam, et Recem genuit Sammai.

45Filius Sammai, Maon: et Maon pater Bethsur.

46Epha autem concubina Caleb peperit Haran, et Mosa, et Gezez. Porro Haran genuit Gezez.

47Filii autem Jahaddai, Regom, et Joathan, et Gesan, et Phalet, et Epha, et Saaph.

48Concubina Caleb Maacha, peperit Saber, et Tharana.

49Genuit autem Saaph pater Madmena Sue, patrem Machbena et patrem Gabaa. Filia vero Caleb fuit Achsa.

50Hi erant filii Caleb, filii Hur primogeniti Ephratha, Sobal pater Cariathiarim.

51Salma pater Bethlehem, Hariph pater Bethgader.

52Fuerunt autem filii Sobal patris Cariathiarim, qui videbat dimidium requietionum.

53Et de cognatione Cariathiarim, Jethrei, et Aphuthei, et Semathei, et Maserei. Ex his egressi sunt Saraitæ, et Esthaolitæ.

54Filii Salma, Bethlehem, et Netophathi, coronæ domus Joab, et dimidium requietionis Sarai:

55cognationes quoque scribarum habitantium in Jabes, canentes atque resonantes, et in tabernaculis commorantes. Hi sunt Cinæi, qui venerunt de Calore patris domus Rechab.

21And afterwards Hesron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Galaad, and took her to wife when he was threescore years old: and she bore him Segub.

22And Segub beget Jair, and he had three and twenty cities in the land of Galaad.

23And he took Gessur, and Aram the towns of Jair, and Canath, and the villages thereof, threescore cities. All these, the sons of Machir father of Galaad.

24And when Hesron was dead, Caleb went in to Ephrata. Hesron also had to wife Abia who bore him Ashur the father of Thecua.

25And the sons of Jerameel the firstborn of Hesron, were Ram his firstborn, and Buna, and Aram, and Asom, and Achia.

26And Jerameel married another wife, named Atara, who was the mother of Onam.

27And the sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerameel, were Moos, Jamin, and Achar.

28And Onam had sons Semei, and Jada. And the sons of Semei: Nadab, and Abisur.

29And the name of Abisur’s wife was Abihail, who bore him Ahobban, and Molid.

30And the sons of Nadab were Saled, and Apphaim. And Saled died without children.

31But the son of Apphaim was Jesi: and Jesi beget Sesan. And Sesan beget Oholai.

32And the sons of Jada the brother of Semei: Jether and Jonathan. And Jether also died without children.

33But Jonathan beget Phaleth, and Ziza, These were the sons of Jerameel.

34And Sesan had no sons, but daughters and a servant an Egyptian, named Jeraa.

35And he gave him his daughter to wife: and she bore him Ethei.

36And Ethei begot Nathan, and Nathan beget Zabad.

37And Zabad beget Ophlal, and Ophlal beget Obed.
